Why Petym costs more than a typical listing

Petym is for owners who want their pet looked after properly, not cheaply. Every sitter is checked before listing, you see the sitter's home and meet them before you book, your written plan is followed and logged, and you see your pet every day. Those take time, and the price pays the sitter for that time.

The prices were set after reading what pet sitting, walking, boarding and day care businesses publish in Indian cities, and placed in the premium part of that range. Big cities cost more to live and travel in for a sitter, so they have their own column. The rate card is dated, and a booking you have confirmed keeps the price it was booked at.

Questions about price

How much does a pet sitter cost on Petym?

Overnight sitting in your home is Rs 2,199 a night in Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru and Rs 1,799 in other cities, for one pet. Drop-in visits start at Rs 499 for 30 minutes, dog walks at Rs 279, boarding at Rs 949 for a cat and Rs 1,399 for a dog, and day care at Rs 999 a day.

Do I pay the sitter or Petym?

You pay Petym, never the sitter directly. The sitter is paid after the booking, through Petym. That keeps the booking, the care plan, the daily updates and the payment in one record, so nothing is settled in cash at the door.

Is there a booking or platform fee on top?

No. The rate card price is what you pay through Petym. Petym's share comes out of that price, and the sitter is paid after the booking. Extras such as a second pet, a puppy or festival dates are listed on this page, so you see the full price before you book.

What makes one pet sitting booking cost more than another?

Mostly time and responsibility: how many nights, visits or walks, how many pets, whether medicines or injections are involved, and whether the dates fall over a festival such as Diwali. Each service page explains what it includes.

Why is Petym priced at the premium end?

Because every booking includes a checked sitter, a free meet and greet first, your care plan followed and logged, one-to-one walks, small day care groups and a photo every day. Petym's prices sit in the premium part of what Indian sitters publish, so the sitter is paid properly for careful work.

Are cancellation terms decided?

No. Petym's cancellation terms are still being drafted and are not in force. They will be published before bookings open. Until then, Petym does not state any notice period, refund or charge.

Who pays if my pet needs an emergency vet during a booking?

Petym has not announced any insurance or vet-bill cover. Plan how an emergency bill would be paid before you leave, and write it on the care sheet. The sitter's job is to call you and get your pet to the nearest 24-hour vet on Petym's list.

How do I work out the cost of my trip?

Multiply the price per night, visit or walk by your dates, add any extras on this page, and take 10% off a stay of 7 nights or more, 15% off 14 or more. Four nights of overnight sitting for one dog on tablets in Bengaluru comes to Rs 8,796, tablets included. Petym's free care plan tool does the sum for you.
